Hey, you!

Have you ever been jamming along to your favorite song and thought "You know what would make this even more awesome? Low quality audio effects!"

Do you ever wish your tunes had more input from inexperienced amateurs who only half understand what they're doing?

Is your favorite part of old music the substandard audio technology, especially if it's used incompetently?

Of course it is! Screw production value!

That's why I've created the ultimate musical experience that no one else has had the balls to produce. Welcome to...

The Deliberately Cheesy Music Assortment

In here, the only rules are that you don't follow the rules. We're going to break all the traditional musical wisdom and inject a palpable bias for known cheesy music elements.

Why? As an artistic commentary! We're doing it to show music is more than how big your production studio is. We're doing it to show the art of music goes deeper than making yet another 3 chord pop song. We're doing it to show that if you can overlook some minor quirks, then there's a whole universe of fascinating music that everyone is missing out on.

But of course, most importantly, we're doing it for the lulz.

What rules will we be breaking, exactly?

Of course, all the music is 100% free and open under CC-BY-SA. So please, enjoy the cheese because cheese is delicious.

"Loading... Please Wait..." Loading music! Please wait... This is 100% pure, genuine MIDI music, and the original warmup for the project. The cheesy rulebreaking includes overlaying just a couple too many melodies and intentionally skipping a bar or two in the second phrase. Overall though, the cheesiness is a bit tame in this one. It is only loading music after all. Gen Download Source

All MIDI was rendered with the public domain Titanic soundfont, which can be found here (download under sources). That's right, I did a high quality rendering of a MIDI file. Perhaps it's a bit counter to the general spirit of this page, but I felt the irony was too magnificent to pass up.
